G.I. Joe + Stop-Motion + The Thing

I recently stumbled across this homage to John Carpenter’s film, “The Thing”, and was completely amazed by the quality of stop-motion animation accomplished with G.I. Joe action figures. Not only is the animation of the characters impressive, but also the set design. It hasn’t been long since I last saw “The Thing”, and some of these set pieces are dead on. The music’s another high point… creepy and building, a perfect complement to the subject matter. I like.

I think this has been around for a bit, but it’s new to me… and completely awse. It was made in Buenos Aires and produced by Mercurio Film, who I’ve never heard of but need to check out.
